–This is the first post of an ongoing project bringing together illustration and the latest tracks worth listening to. Every Monday a mixtape or album from someone  worth checking out will be posted. 

This week Alabama grown and Chicago’s own Mick Jenkins dropped his latest tape The Water[s]. This shit is the perfect balance between conscious lyricism and "bump this shit loud in your corolla". With quality and care put into every single track, Jenkins will be another Chicago household name (along with the Commons, Kellys and Kanyes) very soon.
