LEADING LADY

For our Americana issue, I wanted to take inspiration from one of our country’s greatest style icons: Jackie Kennedy. The 35th President's leading lady was one of the biggest icons of the 1960s and still is decades after John Kennedy’s presidency. Her style defined classic and set a new standard of attainable sophistication and class for women all over the world. She proved that first ladies could be every bit as fabulous as movie stars (take that, Marilyn) and opened the style door for future first ladies such as Michelle Obama. Her dresses, suits, and glorious pearls were beyond stunning and can be adapted into anyone’s wardrobe. Below are pieces from one of my new favorite online stores, thriftedandmodern.com that I believe Mrs. Kennedy herself would approve of.
