SPOOKY STYLE GUIDE : Hocus Pocus

It’s safe to say that October is one of the most loved months of the whole year. This is the time of year when the temperature drops, the leaves change colors, and there is always an overabundance of pumpkin patches, candy corn and caramel apples. One of the best things about the month of October is Halloween. Now that I am 19 years old, I feel like I am way too old to way to dress up and go out trick-or-treating on Halloween but I will never be too old to keep watching Halloween-themed movies. Every year, I feel obligated to sit down and watch a few child-friendly scary movies like Hocus Pocus.

The story of three witches from Salem, Massachusetts being resurrected after 300 years on Halloween night just never gets old in my opinion. One thing I can appreciate about Hocus Pocus now that I didn't when I was younger is the design and structure of the three witches’ costumes. Their velvet dresses with detailed embroidery along with their charming necklaces and rings are things that I would love to be draped in on days other the 31st. Unfortunately, those authentic 16th century style dresses are extremely hard to come by in stores today. Luckily, Wasteland has several pieces that have serious witch vibes and are much more modern.
